How to use it

  1. Peptide in vial (mg) — the total milligrams stated on your vial.
  2. Bacteriostatic water (ml) — how much you add. This sets the concentration: more water is weaker, less water is stronger.
  3. Desired dose — in mg or mcg. The calculator returns the concentration, the volume in ml, and the units to draw on a U-100 insulin syringe.

The math: concentration = vial ÷ water, volume = dose ÷ concentration, and units = volume × 100 (because 100 units = 1 ml on a U-100 syringe).

Understanding peptide reconstitution

Many peptides ship as a lyophilised (freeze-dried) powder. Before any dose can be measured, the powder is dissolved in a liquid — usually bacteriostatic water, which is sterile water with a small amount of preservative. This step is called reconstitution.

The key idea is concentration: the milligrams of peptide divided by the millilitres of water you add. The amount of water is your choice and it does not change how much peptide is in the vial — it only changes how concentrated the solution is, and therefore how far up the syringe a given dose reaches. Add more water for a weaker solution that is easier to measure in small amounts; add less for a concentrated one.

Doses are then drawn on a U-100 insulin syringe, which is marked in units where 100 units equal 1 millilitre. Converting a dose to units by hand is where mistakes creep in, so this calculator does it for you and shows the fill level on a syringe. It is a calculation aid only — it never recommends a dose.
