GHK-Cu is a copper-binding tripeptide — glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine complexed with copper — recognisable by the distinctive blue tint it takes on once in solution. It is supplied as a lyophilised powder that must be reconstituted before a volume can be measured.
GHK-Cu vials are usually larger than other research peptides, often 50 mg or 100 mg, so more bacteriostatic water is generally added to keep the solution easy to measure. The calculator works with any vial size and water volume and returns the concentration plus the syringe units for your dose.

GHK-Cu is not an FDA-approved drug. In 2026 it was removed from the FDA's compounding Category 2 and remains under review; some access is via compounding pharmacies under physician supervision. This is an educational calculation aid, not medical advice.
How to reconstitute GHK-Cu
- 1Let both the peptide vial and the bacteriostatic water reach room temperature, and wipe each rubber stopper with an alcohol swab.
- 2Draw the amount of bacteriostatic water you entered above into a syringe.
- 3Add the water slowly, aiming the stream down the inside glass wall of the GHK-Cu vial rather than directly onto the powder.
- 4Let the powder dissolve on its own; swirl gently if needed. Do not shake.
- 5Once the solution is clear, read the “draw to” figure above and draw that many units on a U-100 insulin syringe.
- 6Store the reconstituted vial as directed by your supplier — usually refrigerated — and note the date.
